506 Single Ply Coat White (For EPDM & Hypalon Membranes)

Karnak 506 Single Ply Coat White is a polymer acrylic, elastomeric coating with superior reflectivity and UV resistance. The coating’s brilliant white color reflects the sun’s rays to prolong the life expectancy of the roof membrane as well as reduce heat transfer into the building environment. Karnak 506 Single Ply Coat White is field-tested and proven to exhibit outstanding adhesion to properly prepared EPDM and Hypalon roofing membranes.

USES

Karnak 506 Single Ply Coat White is designed for use over new or existing EPDM roof membranes and aged Hypalon membranes that have been properly cleaned and prepared.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surfaces should be free of all roof debris and in a water-tight condition. All EPDM roof surfaces must be prepared using Karnak 507 SPC Primer/Wash. Hypalon roof surfaces should not be primed. They should be cleaned with a water-hose (no power-washing) and scrubbed lightly with a stiff brush.

APPLICATION:

Apply Karnak 507 SPC Primer/Wash to the roof surface as directed per the product data sheet application instructions (EPDM roofs only). Allow roof surface to dry before applying the coating.

Lightly mix coating before application. Starting at one end of the roof, apply one coat of Karnak 506 Single Ply Coat White to the entire roof surface at the rate of 1.25 to 1.5 gallons per 100 sq.ft. (20-24 wet mils). Apply coating evenly by roller, brush or airless spray equipment. Allow first coat to dry a minimum of 24 hours then apply a second coat at same rate of 1.25 to 1.5 gallons per 100 sq.ft. Apply second coat perpendicular to the first coat. Allow coatings to cure a minimum of 24 hours before exposure to rain or water.

COVERAGE RATE:

Two coats at the rate of 1.25 to 1.5 gallons per 100 sq.ft. each for a total coverage of 2.5 to 3 gallons per 100 sq.ft. (21-24 Dry mils).
